Until, of course, he meets Evelyn at the skating rink and, much to his dismay, they start dating. While hilarious, I couldn’t help but feel annoyed by the convenience of the way things happened. Also, I found it fitting that the author ended the book with the scene in the RV, with Matt and Coop helping Sean out once again. In the book “Call the Shots” by Don Calame the main character Cooper, also known as Coop, is full of ideas, some great, some not so much.
Calk were rewarded for being eager beavers because this is one funny book – I said it was ‘hilarious’ but my year old daughter said that was because I am probably so old that the sense of humour this author uses seems more funny than it really is. The only thing that I did not see coming was Cathy’s character twist.
I’ve loved hanging with Matt, Coop, and Sean throughout their adventures in this series and their ability to make me literally xon out loud like calamw books can. But don’t judge hsots, okay?
Enter Cooper’s crazy, just-might-work plan: I finished the book because I really liked the sohts and climax. They agreed to give up a lot of their time to invest themselves into a project that was probably going to end up being a failure and a waste of time.
In fact, I’ll confess to having snorted a few times as I moved rapidly through the book. Fun, adolescent male humor that based upon the reviews and video for the book evidently appeals to females as well. I was quite happy if not all that surprised, considering the previous books were narrated by Matt and Coop that Sean got a perspective. This one cxlame told from Sean’s point of view. The book kept me interested the whole way through and it made me want to keep reading more and more.

Like, Sean would be thinking about someone and, suddenly, they were knocking on the door. Fearlessly foul, this consistently comical series should be required reading for all teenage boys and anyone else with a strong stomach and highly sensitive funny bone. Sean is also a bit jealous of Coo Thoroughly enjoyed the final in this hilarious trio of books all based on the friendship of Coop, Sean and Matt.
Her brother was also apparently put on “stress leave” from the army, whatever that means, and that wasn’t really explained.
Along with the hysterical hijinks the boys find themselves into and get of, Coop does become his own person and develops self-confidence. You know what my favorite calams was in the book? The characters and the plot of this story is what made me want to read it, I really wanted to see what happens to Sean and if he succeeds his goal.
He is at least hoping for some much needed sympathy, but he gets even more than he bargained for. I have to say, I can’t wait for the next book buy this author. Thoroughly enjoyed the final in this hilarious trio of books all based on the friendship of Coop, Sean and Matt. I love the characters and how they treat each other but there’s a whole lot of raunchy, dirty boy humor going on.
Suddenly Sean is juggling not one but three interested ladies. Don Calame is coming to town for a festival in September so it seemed like we should get ready by reading one of his books, right? To me, it read like a modern day Bruno and Boots kind of thing, like Gordon Korman with lots of swearing and very up-to-date technology. I felt bad for her. By creating a big block buster movie of course. I can’t wait to pass this on to readers at our library – boys and girls – and I can think of a number of adults who would enjoy reading it also.
Sean and Matt are really not excited about Coop’s newest adventure, but Sean changes his mind when he comes home and learns his mother’s big news. After a long discussion about our different senses of humour we both agreed that this is a fantastic book and grabbe Don Calame is coming to town for a festival in September so it seemed like we should get ready by reading one of his books, right? It’s also very very hilarious, and had me gushing over the well-tied ending.

While Swim the Fly will always be my favorite in this series, Call the Shots is Coop’s turn to be in the spotlight. Want to Read saving…. The plot is as hilarious as ever, filled with laugh-out-loud scenes and painful embarrassments. I Finally, it’s Sean’s turn for a book of his own!
