All things considered is not a bad novel, just not as good as the others. I never return books without reading even it was not given to me. This article is about the novel by Jack Higgins.
This is the 8th book in the Sean Dillion series, thankfully the story line has evolved beyond the Irish rogue drama which was portrayed in books 1 through 7. Inwhile teaching at James Graham College, Patterson began writing novels, including some under the alias James Graham.
Good book to read while cooped up in a trans-Atlantic plane. I have read a few Higgin’s books, and I like them, but have come to the conclusion this his writting does not develop his characters like many other authors, thus I refer to his books as kinda popcorn books.
Let’s just say, I was NOT impressed with this book. Charles Ferguson is a Brigadier and he mainly wants to get his things done. View on the Mobile Site. His minders escape to London and report to Fox’s uncle and patron Don Marco Solazzo, who comes himself to London for what he hopes will be a final showdown.
This book is not very boring, but there is nothing special in this. Unfortunately for him, she is the ex-wife of White House troubleshooter Higvins Johnson. She hesitates to do anything which is against the law and because of Sean Dillon’s past, she is never willing t apologise him.
Interesting storyline about pursuing a mafia killer. Fast-paced and reckonnig gripping, Day of Reckoning is one of his finest works, destined to become yet another in a long line of international bestsellers. Brigadier Charles Ferguson, who was directly under the British Prime Minister decided to take him out of prison and in turn, Sean Hibgins had to work for him.

I didn’t enjoy this story as much as others by Mr. Katherine’s ex-husband is Blake Johnson, head of the clandestine White House department known as The Basement, and with the President’s permission, the former FBI agent is about to take revenge. This book features Sean Dillon, an ex-IRA person, who disliked killing innocent people in Ulster and hence, left IRA and decided to be a mercenary, who sold his services to various organisations, legal or illegal, he didn’t care.
Wherever the money trail leads — New York, England, Ireland, the Middle East — Johnson and his Irish colleague, Sean Dillon, plan to hit Fox where it hurts the most, by cutting his illegal businesses to shreds, until Fox stands defenseless before his enemies.
It’s all action and suspense as Sean Dillon and his secret intelligence colleagues seek to help American White House security insider Blake Johnson avenge the death of his ex-wife, a reporter murdered for getting too close to a Mafia story.
Day of Reckoning is entertaining enough to be a passable read, but there’s hardly a description or moment of subtle characterization anywhere to be found throughout. Jack Higgins’ books are never going to win a Booker Prize Award but, like James Patterson, you know what you’re going to get.
Fox learns that she plans to expose him as a Mafia member and nephew of a Mafia family, and he has her killed.

I love reading them his books like others of this typebut I need to go back to the beginning to read the character development. Sean Dillon says that he is a good actor and is also a good scuba diver. With recioning publication of the international blockbuster The Eagle Has Landedwhich was later made into a movie of the same name starring Michael Caine, Patterson became a regular fixture on bestseller lists.
But Fox has not become so powerful without learning a few tricks along the way.
